作品名称:A Photo of Kip's Castle 作品类别:摄影B组 作者:Cecilia Manis 年龄:13岁 国家地区:Verona, America 指导老师:Jenny Qin(秦艳) 所在学校:H.B.Whitehorne Middle School 创作介绍: This is a photo of Kip's Castle. Kip's Castle is located in both Verona and Montclair, New Jersey. The castle’s real name is “Kypsburg”, after the first owner Frederic Ellsworth Kip. It took three years to build (1902-1905). Frederic Ellsworth Kip was a textile inventor and industrialist who had a lot of money. The building was supposed to replicate a medieval Norman castle. It covers 9,000 square feet on a mountain named “First Mountain”, and it has a beautiful view of the New York City skyline. This castle is definitely not the youngest in America, considering most of the castles, people find throughout the country were built closer to the middle of the 20th century, while this was made in the beginning. The style of medieval Norman castles are usually built to intimidate outsiders, but now the government-owned estate is a very peaceful place to walk and is a beautiful reminder of what the world used to be like. |
