       This photograph is of the Statue of Liberty, a symbol of freedomand our rights, and one of if not the most recognizable landmark of the U.S.. It was given to us by the French on June 17, 1885, to symbolize the alliance between our countries during the American Revolutionary War. Many of the workers who reassembled the statue after the pedestal was built were immigrants, and the day it was unveiled a million New Yorkers came to watch.
