        The Masks or the mukuts of bhaktapur are renowned and recognized thorughout Nepal. The maks are handcrafter by people of a certain caste "Pun”. The masks themselves represent faces of gods and goddesses. Locally available materials like black clay, nepali paper, cotton, etc are entensively used to produces the masks. The masks are worn by the people performing and celebrating festivals like the Lakhe festival, Nava Durga Dance, etc.
