      One of the most beautiful lakes in Kyrgyzstan -- the dead lake Kel-Tor is located in the gorge of the same name. It can be reached from the Kegety gorge, which is 90 km from the city of Bishkek towards Issyk-Kul.

This lake is an excellent destination for a walking tour through the Kel-Tor gorge.

       Lake Kel-Tor is located at an altitude of 2725 meters above sea level. The lake has an unusual peak called ""Sugarloaf"" with an overhanging glacier. The height of this peak is 4253 m.A large number of medicinal herbs grows on the banks of the river. These are sage, St. John's wort, medicinal thyme, a series. Among the shrubs on the slopes of the mountains grow wild berries such as wild strawberries and blueberries.

        The Kel-Tor gorge is a branch of another gorge - Kegety. There are two beautiful waterfalls in the Kegety gorge - Big Kegety Waterfall and Small Kegety Waterfall. On the way to the Kegety gorge, 12 km from the city of Tokmak, there is a unique building of the 10-11th centuries called the Burana Tower. The height of the Tower is 21.7 meters. The Burana Tower is part of the architectural museum, protected by the state. It is a first-class monument of architectural heritage.
